The South Delta Home Learners (SDHL) is a support group for home learning families. We are not a school. We are a group of families who have chosen home-based education for our children.
The group consists of about 70 families with children ranging in ages from newborn to 18 plus alumni families. We are diverse in our philosophies, religions, and educational needs. Whether we choose to register our children as homeschoolers or enroll them in a distance learning program, we are totally inclusive and supportive of each other. We have parent support meetings, organize group events such as gymnastics, swimming, choir, skating, field trips, biography fairs, games evenings, beach explorations, and much more.
We are a volunteer-run, membership-based group. To become a member, there is a $20 joining fee that includes a $10 contribution to the damage deposit fund (a one time only fee) and the first year's $10 annual membership fee. All communication is done via a closed email group and only current members are able to post or view information. The renewal fee is $10 annually, renewals are due in September of each year.
